Welcome, Kyran and Karyssa!

It's hard to believe that our babies will be a week old tomorrow!
On Sunday, December 21, at 11:17 a.m., Kyran Jason Burkett was delivered via C-section. He weighed 3 lb, 4 oz and was 15 3/4 inches long. Two minutes later, at 11:19 a.m., Karyssa Josilyn Burkett entered the world. She weighed 2 lb, 11 oz and was 15 inches long.
They are both in the NICU at Palmetto Baptist and seem to be doing well, based on their gestational age. The hospital has a brand new NICU, and each of the babies has their own room. We have pull out beds where we can sleep once Talyse has recovered. There is a twin suite, but it is occupied now, so we're hoping that they will share a room soon.
Karyssa dropped to 2 lb, 8 oz and is back up to 2 lb, 12 oz now. She is eating very well and will be over 3 lb before we know it! Kyran has not been weighed recently, but looks to be keeping his weight well. Kyran and Karyssa both have full heads of black hair and are absolutely beautiful!
Our first Christmas as a family was one we will never forget, and we are always reminded of how blessed we are to have Jesus Christ as our Savior and to have His hands on our children.
We are able to use laptops in the babies' rooms, so we will do a better job of keeping everyone posted about their development. We will also post pictures soon. Thanks for all of the prayers, and keep them coming!
Love,
Jason and Talyse
