One year ago today, I went in for a check-up at 35 weeks. My blood pressure was elevated, and they were concerned. Dr. S. said that I would go to high-risk maternity and see if we could get it to come down. If not, Gemma would be born that day or the next day.
Jason came over right away and sat with me as I tried to relax. I was so nervous, that the contractions started coming very quickly. They gave me some terbuteline, and the contractions calmed down, as did my blood pressure.
They sent me home with an appointment to come back the next Monday for another check. I had a feeling that was the day I would meet my baby girl.
