We are so blessed to have a children's theatre so close to us, and Kyran is now in rehearsals for his second play there.
This summer was filled with A LOT of Shrek! If he wasn't at rehearsal, we were singing the songs. So much so that even Gemma has most of the words to most of the songs memorized. She still sings them when she's supposed to be napping, or in her high chair, or in the car...you get the picture.
The big kids have put on the play for us several times at home, each taking on several roles. It's confusing for those who didn't see the actual play, but for those of us who did, we know they are doing an excellent job!
Kyran learned a lot about commitment and priorities this summer, as he had to miss one of his best friend's birthday parties. Karyssa was invited, and said she wouldn't go if Kyran said it wasn't ok. At first he said no, but after I talked to him, he agreed he was ok with it.
In complete honesty, I still feel guilt at times over Kyran's delays. But seeing him on that stage, watching the pride in Jason's face when he's on stage, makes that guilt all but go away completely. He is such a natural, and has such a love for this, that I am confident THIS was God's plan for him all along.
I am so thankful for my friend Jackie, who has kept us watching children's theatre and let Kyran take advantage of an opportunity that we might not otherwise have exposed him to. She was at the audition and on the crew for Shrek, and Kyran (who decided on his own to refer to her as "Aunt Jackie" when he was 4), grew even closer to her. Jackie even sent me photos and videos from backstage!

And the finale!
This is just a small portion of the people who came to see him! He was blown away by all of the support he got that weekend!
He made so many friends! Here is one of his favorites!
