Easter

We had a wonderful Easter this year!

Easter morning started out early, but fun, as the kids discovered their goodies from the Easter Bunny.

After that, it got a little rough, since Jason went to the sunrise service at church, which left me getting all three kids dressed and out the door in time for our regular service. Usually, this is not such a task, but that morning Gemma decided to be very clingy, Karyssa wanted to complain about every article of clothing she had on, and Kyran just wanted to take his time doing everything. And none would cooperate for pictures before church.

Church was nice, and we had the added bonus of finding out some friends there are expecting their fourth child!

Dinner was great, although slightly smaller than usual. Harmony and her family were with Nathan's family, and Ben couldn't join us. Originally, we did not think Jon and his crew could be there, so we invited our friends Jackie and Robert and their twins, Elliot and Eliza, to join us. Then at the last minute, Jon, Laura, Grant and Sloan said they could come, so along with my parents, that made 15 people for Easter dinner. Like I said, a smaller crew compared to the 19+ when our whole family gets together.

I made a ham, some corn and my grandmother's squash and zucchini casserole, and others brought sides and desserts. There was not one of us who wasn't stuffed by the end of dinner! Eliza, who I'd been warned was a picky eater, even asked for seconds of the ham!

The kids all had a great time playing together. We had an egg hunt and for each egg, the kids got two puzzle pieces. Then, they put the puzzles together for a prize. We had some other games and crafts planned, but the kids were getting along so well that we didn't want to stop them from playing long enough to do anything else organized.

It's always so nice to spend time with family, and friends who feel like family!

Most importantly, of course, we took time to reflect and talk to the children about the real meaning of Easter. We are so thankful for Jesus' love for us, for his sacrifice, and for his resurrection so that we can live forever with Him.

Kyran couldn't take the excitement!

Karyssa was pretty happy too!

And when Gemma finally woke up, she was happy too!

I actually got a good picture of all three of them! That never happens!
