Atlantic City

Our most recent trip had, as many of our trips have, several stops along the way. We have family and friends who live in great places, so we take advantage of that when planning vacations. The main point of this trip was for Gemma to meet her great-great-grandmother, Silvia, who is 99 and now lives in upstate NY.

We decided to rent a van and got a free upgrade. This one had a DVD system in it. The kids only watched one movie on the way up, and one on the way down, but they enjoyed it.

Our first stop on the way up was at the house of a college roommate of Jason's. Drew (or Mr. Drew Dog to Karyssa) and his wife Stacey have a baby girl, Gabriella, who was born just a week and a half after Gemma. It was fun to see them interact, and we had a great time with Drew and Stacey too.

Mr. Drew Dog is also a horse!

They live just outside of Atlantic City, so after driving all day Friday (the kids were awesome, especially Gemma on her first real road trip), we headed to Atlantic City for lunch Saturday.

After lunch, we went to visit Lucy, the 60-foot tall elephant! You can read more about Lucy here.

The kids loved seeing her, but I loved it even more!

We were sad to leave the next morning, but excited about seeing our family in Brooklyn and Long Island and getting some Manhattan time too!
