When we arrived at my great-aunt Elizabeth's house, we (Jason) unloaded the van and brought everything up two flights of stairs to our third-story room in their Brooklyn brownstone. After settling in, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful 50-degree weather (brrrr...it was in the 70s where we live all week) and walk to the nearby school to play on the playground.
Apparently, several people had the same idea because the playground was crowded! The school also has basketball courts and an AstroTurf soccer field. Look at the size of this elementary school where my cousin went!
The kids had fun playing, but when the big kids started using the little playground, it was time to go.
The next day, I felt horrible, so Jason and Elizabeth took the kids to a different park. That afternoon, we went to Long Island to visit some of the Krolewicz family. I might or might not have mentioned this before, but my dad's dad died when my dad was only 12 years old. After that, they lost touch with the rest of his family, which is pretty large. About 18 years ago, with the help of this new thing called the Internet, my dad's cousin Sheree found my aunt Pam. We have reconnected, but many of them have since moved back to Israel.
Sheree is still on Long Island, with her husband Glenn and their kids. All five kids are grown, but two still live at home and the others are close by, so we were able to see most of them, as well as my dad's uncle Henni, who is the closest thing I've ever had to a Krolewicz grandfather. These are some of the most fun, outspoken people you will ever meet. We've now seen Sheree and Glenn three times in the past six months, and the kids are wild about them! They also loved meeting some of their other cousins.

Over the next two days, we spent more time with Elizabeth and Bob, and also went into Manhattan twice. More on that later!
