Grandma-Greats is 99 years old, but you would never know it. She is brilliant and funny and loves us all so much! The whole point of this trip was for Gemma to meet her, and they were crazy about each other!
Gemma even got serenaded by Grandma! I'm so glad I got this on video!
The next day, Irene had set up pony-riding lessons for Kyran and Karyssa. They were so excited and both said they wanted to go first. As usual, I picked a number for them to guess. Kyran guessed the closest number, but then let Karyssa go first anyway. So sweet!
Karyssa was fearless! She loved being on the pony and was such a natural. She did "hands off" and was able to steer Pepper, too. I see an expensive activity in Karyssa's future.
Then they got to groom her and feed her a treat.
Even Gemma got to sit on her!
After the lesson, we went to the retirement community where Grandma-Greats lives to see her place and eat lunch. She is certainly a popular person there! Her calendar is full and she has lots of friends. She is also the oldest person on the independent living side. We were as proud to be there with her as she was to have us there!
The view from Grandma's hallway balcony!
Kyran doing what he does best...raiding the refrigerator!
These two have always had such a connection!

Eating Grandma-Greats' ice cream!
When we got back to Irene's house, the kids did some gardening and we had another great dinner with Alexei. Gemma loves Alexei and Irene's friend's little dog! Irene also spoiled them both nights with songs and stories at bedtime. We were all so sad to leave!
My beauty on the swing!
Puppy kisses! The dog was one month younger than Gemma!
Those are big shoes to fill!
