In a desperate attempt to make Kyran laugh before I go back to work and he laughs for the first time in front of Grandmommy, Marley and Kahlan came over to play. They didn't get him to laugh, but the babies loved their visitors!
Thursday we made our trip up to Charlotte for Karyssa's consultation about her head shape. Riley's mom, Kerry, made the trip with us and was a huge help! It's great to have good friends to rely on! They did recommend a DOC band for Karyssa, so we will be going up to Charlotte again in the near future to get digital imagery done. This imagery will be used to shape the band. They estimated she will wear the band between 8-10 weeks, and we will need to go to Charlotte once a week to have the band adjusted as her head grows.
We finally got the results of the apnea monitor downloads. Karyssa had a few apnea episodes with heart rate drops, the last being three days before the download, so she'll be on her monitor for at least another month. Kyran had four episodes in the first two weeks, but none during the last three! If the next download is clear, we will begin to talk about discontinuing him from the monitor. I'm afraid that all of the sleep I've been getting will be gone, because I'm probably just going to be standing over his bassinet watching him breathe all night.
Hopefully, they'll come download the monitors again soon and we'll get the results a lot sooner than we did this time. The process worked very well the first two months, but for some reason, this month was full of confusion and run-around.
Here are some pictures from Marley and Kahlan's visit!
