The Burkett Bundle

Yesterday was Veteran's Day and one of the great things about Jason's new job is that he now gets all federal holidays off!  So, even though he and the babies are all feeling a little under the weather, we took advantage of our "free" day to have some fun!!

First, we let Jason sleep in a little while we ate breakfast.  Once he was up we got the kids ready and headed downtown for the Veteran's Day parade.  It was a pretty long parade, and unseasonably warm for November, so they didn't last for the whole parade, but they loved what they did see.  They had so much fun waving at the parade participants and really enjoyed seeing the big military vehicles, motorcycles and marching bands go by!

After the parade and a nice, long nap, we met my mom for some shopping and dinner.  Thanks, Grandmommy for the great meal and great company! 

By the end of the day, it felt like an entire weekend had gone by, so it will be great to wake up tomorrow morning with yet another two days to spend together as a family!
