New Word Wednesday

Here are some of their new words from the last week:

Karyssa:
Water
Cracker

She has also been stringing together two-word phrases, like "go pee", which I think she said as she was going, "brush hair", "more please" (with and without the signs), and a few others that I can't recall now.

Kyran:
Baby
Cracker
Please
Football

He also looked at Aunt Tammy's mascara as she was putting it on and got excited saying "bubbles".  He's been saying bubbles for a while, but this was interesting because he related the mascara wand to the bubble wand!

For the past two weeks, we took the babies to their first swim lessons!  For me, it was extra special, because the lessons were at the same pool where I took lessons as a child.  They loved being in the water, as usual (Kyran especially loved the pretty young lifeguard), and they really did learn a lot.  They now feel much more comfortable in the water, and will kick their legs, and Kyran even moves his arms in the "scooping" motion they taught him.  More than anything, they love "jumping" off the side of the pool and being dunked under the water!

Swimming was such a big part of my summers growing up, and it is so important to me that they feel comfortable in the water, and know the principles of swimming and how to float.

Floating in their life jackets...they had fun at first, but then wanted to be held again.
