Date-wise, today is the last of Kyran and Karyssa's firsts. March 3, 2009 was their original due date, so if they had made it to 40 weeks, they would be one year old today!
Of course, from the time we found out we were having twins, we knew they would never make it to March, but we're celebrating today anyway. Funny enough, today is our other baby's birthday. Bella, our dog, is 3 today.
Today, Karyssa has put the circle shape in the circle hole of their shape sorter three times, and Kyran has done it once. They looks so excited and proud when they do it and get lots of applause. They have really gotten good at playing with toys the way they are supposed to be played with, and not just putting everything in their mouths!
Kyran loves to drum on things now, and sometimes it seems to actually have a beat to it. Those of you who know me know that some of my best friends are percussionists, so if he has some talent, he'll have plenty of teachers.
Speaking of best friends, Karyssa has a favorite book. The title is Best Friends, and the whole book is full of the cutest pictures of puppies and kittens. She can be in a room full of toys, and she consistently picks up the book and brings it to me. She'll let me read about half of it, take it from me to look at, and then hand it back to me to finish. Then she does the whole routine again! I know babies like repetition, so I have a feeling I'm going to have that book memorized very quickly!
During the last week or so, Karyssa has stopped using the "more" sign. I think she's just being stubborn, because she had it perfect a couple of weeks ago. Kyran, on the other hand, does it for everything. Feed me "more", tickle me "more", hold me upside down "more"...you get the picture. We're also working on "please", "thank you", "help" and "eat".
Their personalities show more and more each day and I'm so proud of my kids!
