The Burkett Bundle

Over the last week, Kyran has acquired a new nickname - Mr. Mimic!  He is becoming the biggest copy-cat ever!  He loves to repeat our sounds and motions.  His new favorite game is to look at you, wait until you make eye contact and then wait for you to blink.  Once you blink, he blinks back, very deliberately, and then waits for you to blink again.  I know that doesn't sound like it, but it may very well be the cutest thing ever!  He is also attempting to wink.  Boy, oh, boy, is he going to be a ladies man!

He is making so many sounds and repeating so many words.  He also still loves to "cluck" his tongue and smack his lips together.  He has also been requesting games.  For instance, he'll clap to signal that it's time to sing "If You're Happy and You Know It" or play Patty-Cake. 

Karyssa won't mimic us very much, but she will copy what he does.  She claps when he claps, and repeats his sounds.  She has also started making a pretty loud kiss sound, and a fish-face pucker.  Of course she won't do it for the camera, but it's hilarious!  Karyssa's newest game is to try to get us to chase her.  She crawls a little, then turns and looks at us with her little smirk, and then takes off again.  When we start to follow her, she just giggles. 

They've been a little fussy this week, which makes me think we're going to see more teeth any day. 

The last few days have been absolutely gorgeous here, and both our Wednesday and Thursday afternoon appointments cancelled, so we've been going for walks and playing outside.  Kyran still wants to eat the grass, but he's getting better about stopping when I say no.
