18-Month Check-Up

Yesterday was the big 18-month check-up and it went very well!

Dr. B said that she anticipated wanting to see them for a check-up at 21 months, but after their exam yesterday, said she doesn't need to see them until they are two!  Of course, she will see them at 21 months if I think there is a reason at that point, but she said they seem perfect to her!

Until we sat down with her yesterday, I didn't realize how many words they are both using without prompting.  She said at 18 months, they like for babies to have at least six words, and they are well beyond that! 

They are still on track or advanced in every level except for gross motor skills, but she was very pleased with Karyssa's walking and said that Kyran felt like a new child! All of the work our new PT is doing has really paid off when it comes to his upper-body tightness!

Karyssa took a big jump on the growth curve, almost reaching the chart for the first time.  Kyran is staying steady along his growth curve, but for the first time ever, they are within half a pound of each other, and are the same height!  Here are their stats:

Kyran:
Weight - 19 lb, 13 oz (below 3%)
Height - 28 3/4 inches (below 3%)
Head - 46.5 cm (18%)

Karyssa:
Weight - 19 lb, 8 oz (below 3%)
Height - 28 3/4 in (below 3%)
Head - 45.5 cm (23%)

It won't be long now before they both weigh 20 pounds!
